Cancun of 40 years ago. With uncrowded white sand beaches, beachfront
hotels renting for pennies a day and beach palapas serving fish fresh
from the nearby turquoise waters, Playa del Carmen is a haven for
the beachbum in everyone. |

and turquoise waters, its hard to see why anyone would want to depart
for locations to the interior; however with Mayan ruins, like Tulum
and Chichen-itza nearby its hard to pass it up. Playa del
Carmen's beaches are so fine that they've made Equator's Favorites list.
