 Acapulco's
fabulous stretch of white sand beach with its unique rock formations,
which cause crashing pinnacles of water are a spectacle to behold
in themselves. La Quebrada Divers, one of the area's
most famous attractions, just adds to the excitement of this water
show. The divers gather several times a day to launch themselves off
the 150 ft. cliffs into the surging (and retreating) |
| waters below. Fort of San Diego is an intersting, and well preserved, old fort perched on a hill above town. In town, the Convention Center offers visitors a craft market, a large plaza and regional dance exhibitions. Nearby, CICI and Magico Mundo Marino are family water parks that offers dolphin and seal shows and water slides. The Botanical Gardens tucked into the lush tropical forests that surround Acapulco offer amazing scenery and educational information about native plant life. About thirty minutes outside of Acapulco is Laguna de Tres Palos where some of the original Tarzan movies were filmed. The huge freshwater lagoon offers incredible tropical beauty and unique boat tours of the mangrove swamps. Other long day-trip possibilities inlcude Tasco, the city of silver, and Mexico City. |
