| Barbados' lush island interior holds many fascinating
attractions. At Harrison's Cave, a tram
takes visitors into the depths of the cave to view the stunning
stalactites, stalagmites and underground rivers and pools. Welchman
Hall Gully holds hundreds of unique species of tropical plants
while green monkeys are the main attraction at the Barbados
Wildlife Reserve. There are several interesting preserved sugar
plantations, including St. Nicholas Abbey, which is
one of the oldest in all of the Caribbean. For a look into the island culture, visit Tyrol Cot Heritage Village, which is a reconstruction of a traditional Bajan village. Traditional Bajan crafts offer visitors great shopping opportunities, and there is a restaurant and a rum shop. |
