Caribbean town from the waterBarbados has some of the finest scuba diving in the Caribbean with over a dozen shipwrecks located in relatively shallow water off the island's west coast. Some of the wrecks are so shallow even snorkelers can get a good look at them. The water off the west coast shoreline is much calmer as this is the
leeward side of the island. The south coast offers excellent wind for windsurfing and the east coast has great swells for surfing. The area's waters are teeming with fish providing decent deep-sea fishing. If you're more for viewing than catching, many companies run sunset cruises and boat tours, or for a unique look below the waves, Atlantis is a 28-seat submarine that gives underwater tours of the reef.

The islands lush interior hosts a variety of attractions such as Harrison's Cave and Welchman Hall Gully providing incredible scenic hiking. Several companies offer organized tours to see the sites by car, or you could try horseback riding. The interior also hosts an array of restored plantation houses that are open to the public.

The island is also home to a couple of good golf courses: The Barbados Golf Club and Rockley Golf & Country Club. But, the most popular on shore sport is cricket. Matches can be viewed at many places around the island.
