 Singapore's

exuding history and charm. Have a drink in its bar, the birthplace

Sling. There are many other important Colonial buildings
in this area such as the Parliament House, Victoria Concert

| There is a distinctly Asian flair in Chinatown with its maze of roads packed with temples and vendors selling all sorts of treats. The restored area of Tanjong Pagar gives an especially clear image of old Asia. Little India includes exotic foods, shops and Hindu and Buddhist temples including the Temple of 1000 Lights, which washes buddha in a fabulous display. On Arab St. you'll find some intersting mosques and a middle eastern feel. The banks of the Singapore River host an amazing array of , retaurants and shops, restored buildings and museums. Take a river boat tour to take in the whole area. The Zoological Gardens have a good collection of Asian animals including orangutans and Komodo dragons as well as animals from around the world. The Singapore Science Centre is a hands-on, exploratory museum of science. Jurong Bird Park has thousands of birds in its aviary. Take a cable car rideto Sentosa Island, home of Underwater World, a fabulous marine park with underwater tunnels. |
